Het omhulsel is een pijp met grote diameter die als structurele pal voor de muren van dient
olie en gasputten, of put. Het wordt opgenomen in een put op zijn plaats droeg en cementeerde
om zowel subsurface vormingen als de put te beschermen van het instorten en toe te staan
boringsvloeistof en extractie om door te geven plaats te vinden.
